Wife: Nah, we should really do laundry.
Husband begins to sing and dance.
Husband (singing): We have called you to join us today because you are a party pooper. Party pooper, party pooper!
Wife: Huh. Is that how the song goes?
Husband: Yes! Isn't it clarievident? Party pooper!
My friend and I always used to sing this in college. Our friend Karen HATED it and complained, which made us sing it louder. Once, her sister in law was coming for a visit, and Karen came to us and said, "Will you please not sing that song?" and we were like, "What song?" and she said, "The song about the Jews."
ReplyDeleteShe totally thought we were singing, "Every party has a popper, that's why we invite a JEW." Instead of the actual words, which are: "Every party has a popper that's why we invited YOU."
And we all spoke the same language! :) Love this blog.
